NEW CONCORD, Ohio – The Thiel College women's tennis team won a non-conference match on the road Friday over the Muskingum Fighting Muskies, 7-2.
The Tomcats picked up four wins in singles play.
Natalie Zgurich (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) defeated Kayla Hall 7-5, 6-1 at second singles while
Allyson Stanley (Oil City, Pa./Oil City) defeated Evelyn Pauquette 6-2, 6-2 at fourth singles.
Taylor Ranegar (Pittsburgh, Pa./Avella) won 6-2, 6-1 over Emma Bachman in the No. 5 match while
Reagan Hayne (Greenville, Pa./Greenville) downed Emma Lewis 6-1, 6-2 in the No. 6 match.
Thiel swept all three doubles matches. Zgurich teamed with
Angela Campbell (Pittsburgh, Pa./Plum) for an 8-5 win over Gracie Andrews and Hall at first doubles while Stanley and
Shyann Foreman (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro) won 8-3 over Sara Welsh and Pauquette in the No. 2 match. At third doubles, Ranegar and Hayne defeated Bachman and Lewis, 8-4.
Thiel improved to 3-3 on the season with the win.
The Tomcats will face the Saint Vincent Bearcats on the road next Tuesday. The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match is set to begin at 4 p.m.
