BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Thiel College women's soccer team lost a 2-1 non-conference contest on the road to the Medaille Mavericks on Wednesday.
The Mavericks got on the score sheet fast scoring the first goal of the night just 14 seconds into the game and would double their lead with just under five minutes left in the first half.
Thiel's only goal of the night came from Madison Acor (Houston, Pa./Chartiers-Houston), the first of her collegiate career. Nicole Pereksta (Parma Heights, Ohio/Valley Forge) and Arlene Barreto (Covina, Calif./Bishop Amat Memorial ) both registered multi-shot performances in the loss.
Defensively, Bethany Bonnar (Beaver, Pa./Beaver Area) tallied five saves in net.
The Tomcats will be on the road again on Tuesday September 17th when they face the Mount Aloysius Mounties. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m.
