GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's soccer team opened the 2019 season Friday evening with a 3-0 non-conference loss to the Franciscan Lady Barons at Alumni Stadium.
 
Kaitrin O'Leary opened scoring in the fourth minute on a header off Katie Kilian's corner kick. Kilian went on to double Franciscan's lead in the 59^th minute. O'Leary scored her second goal of the game, which was unassisted, late in the second half.
 
Freshman goalkeeper Bethany Bonnar (Beaver, Pa./Beaver Area) made six saves for the Tomcats. Marissa Ramirez (Amherst, Ohio/Amherst Steele) took two shots for Thiel, both of which were on goal.
 
Marita Ostrich made six saves for the Lady Barons.
 
Thiel will host Pitt Bradford on Tuesday. The non-conference game is scheduled to start at 4 p.m. at Alumni Stadium.
