LATROBE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's lacrosse team lost a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) game on the road Thursday to the Saint Vincent Bearcats, 12-5.
Thiel led 3-2 at the end of the first quarter, but Saint Vincent responded with seven consecutive goals to hold a 9-3 lead with a little more than five minutes remaining in the third quarter.
Andrew Monks (Butler, Pa./Butler) paced Thiel with three goals while recording a pair of caused turnovers.
Kenny Hill (Inwood, N.Y./Lawrence) tallied two points (1G, 1A).
Jack Fontana (Olmsted Falls, Ohio/Olmsted) won 10 faceoffs and picked up five ground balls.
Zach Novelli led the Bearcats with four points (2G, 2A) while Ben Price recorded three points (2G, 1A).
Cole O'Connor (Midlothian, Va./James River) made 17 saves for the Tomcats. Brandon Martin made seven saves for the Bearcats.
The Tomcats (7-7, 2-4 PAC) will close out the 2019 season Saturday when they face the Washington & Jefferson Presidents (7-8, 2-4 PAC) on the road. The PAC game is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
