Tomcats defeat Panthers, 50-6

GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College wrestling team earned a 50-6 non-conference win over the Pitt Bradford Panthers Wednesday evening at Beeghly Gymnasium.
 
Jason Baker (New Alexandria, Pa. /Derry Area) scored Thiel's first non-forfeited points of the match with a 17-1 technical fall over Trenton Wills at 149 pounds. At 165, Austin Bonacci (West Mifflin, Pa./West Mifflin) earned an 8-3 decision win over Nate Powley.
 
Dylan Proper (Titusville, Pa./Maplewood), who was coming off a third-place finish at the Baldwin Wallace Invitational on Nov. 23, pinned Derek Ridgeway in 21 seconds to pick up the win at 184 pounds. In a 285-pound exhibition match, James Kimbrough (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell), who finished sixth at the Baldwin Wallace Invitational, pinned Matthew Ristau in 1:22.
 
The Tomcats, who are 2-1 in duals on the season, will compete in the Rochester Institute of Technology Invitational on Saturday.
