BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Thiel College women's basketball team lost 65-48 Saturday in the consolation game of the Betty Abgott Invitational to the tournament-host Buffalo State Bengals.
Destiny Johnson (Baltimore, Md./Western), who was named to the all-tournament team, recorded a double-double with team-bests in points (21) and rebounds (10) on Saturday. Johnson scored 27 points and corralled 24 rebounds at the two-day tournament.
Rachel Breckenridge (Burton, Ohio/Berkshire) scored 15 points Saturday and contributed six rebounds.
Indea Phillips (Warren, Ohio/Warren G. Harding ) chipped in with seven points and seven rebounds.
Liv LeBaron scored a game-high 26 points for the Bengals to go along with nine rebounds, five assists, five blocks and five steals.
The Tomcats will return to action on Tuesday, Dec. 3 when they host the Marietta Pioneers at Beeghly Gymnasium. The non-conference game is set to begin at 7 p.m.
