Box Score GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's basketball team lost a non-conference game to the Pitt Greensburg Bobcats on Wednesday, 71-42.
Rachel Breckenridge (Burton, Ohio/Berkshire),
Destiny Johnson (Baltimore, Md./Western) and
Indea Phillips (Warren, Ohio/Warren G. Harding ) combined for Thiel's first seven points to jump out to a 7-2 lead less than four minutes into the game.
Pitt Greensburg answered with a 6-0 run of their own to establish a one-point advantage with 3:19 left in the first quarter. The Bobcats did not trail the rest of the game.
Breckenridge led Thiel with 13 points. She made 3-of-6 shots from behind the three-point line.
Colleen Trainer (Latrobe, Pa./Mount Pleasant) added seven points and four rebounds in the loss.
Bailee Gregor (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) chipped in with six points off the bench.
Destiny Merriwether (Youngstown, Ohio/East ) grabbed a team-best seven rebounds.
The Bobcats were led by the double-double performance of Nadege Durand. She scored 18 points and hauled in 10 rebounds in the road win.
The Tomcats will take part in the McDaniel Tip-Off Tournament this weekend in Westminster, Md. The first game, against Juniata College on Friday, is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m.
