Tomcats defeated in quarterfinals of PAC Championship Tournament

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The sixth-seeded Thiel College women's tennis team was defeated 9-0 in the quarterfinal round of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship Tournament Monday by the third-seeded Westminster Titans.

Angela Campbell (Pittsburgh, Pa./Plum) lost at No. 3 singles 6-0, 6-2 to Casey Barton while Reagan Hayne (Greenville, Pa./Greenville) was defeated 6-2, 6-2 at fifth singles by McKenna Robinson. Natalie Zgurich (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) and Campbell lost 8-3 at No. 1 doubles to Margo Mason and Alex Marzouca.

This is the second year the PAC Championship Tournament has featured a team championship bracket format. The conference had previously sponsored a flighted championship with individual players and doubles teams exclusively seeded and not based on a team's regular-season finish.

This year's team champion will earn the PAC's automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Division III Championships.
