GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's tennis team defeated the Mount Aloysius Mounties in non-conference play Sunday, 6-3.
Allyson Stanley (Oil City, Pa./Oil City),
Taylor Ranegar (Pittsburgh, Pa./Avella) and
Reagan Hayne (Greenville, Pa./Greenville) each picked up a pair of wins on the day.
Stanly defeated Maggie Willason 6-0, 6-0 to improve to 10-2 on the season at fourth singles. Stanley also paired with
Shyann Foreman (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro) to defeat Willason and Emily Abramowich 8-2 at second doubles.
Ranegar topped Tawnya Holben 6-1, 6-0 at No. 5 singles. At No. 6 singles,
Reagan Hayne (Greenville, Pa./Greenville) defeated Kayla Hopkins 6-0, 6-1. Ranegar and Hayne also teamed up to beat Hopkins and Holben at No. 3 doubles, 8-0.
Angela Campbell (Pittsburgh, Pa./Plum) won her No. 3 singles match over Abramowich 3-6, 7-5, 10-6.
Thiel improve to 6-6 overall with Sunday's win.
Campbell, Foreman and
Amelia Mutinelli (Greenville, Pa./Greenville) were honored prior to the match during Senior Day.
The Tomcats will be back in action Thursday when they face the Westminster Titans on the road. The Presidents' Athletic Conference match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
