JAMESTOWN, N.Y. – The Thiel College wrestling team collected a 34-21 dual meet victory over Jamestown Community College on Wednesday night.
 
Jamestown built a quick 11-0 led after the first two bouts as the Jayhawks collected a fall and a technical fall.
 
A forfeit victory at 141 pounds put the Tomcats on the board as they closed the gap making it 11-6 in favor of the Jayhawks. Thiel then went on a run of three-straight victories as Vincent Mion (Mount Oliver, Pa./Carrick) picked up a major decision over Ben Winkler, 11-0 at 149 pounds followed by pins by Jason Miller (Clarksville, Pa./Jefferson Morgan) at 157 pounds and Austin Bonacci (West Mifflin, Pa./West Mifflin) at 165 pounds. The Tomcats then led 22-11 with four matches remaining.
 
JCC bounced back at 174 pounds as Dan Torres earned a major decision over Dylan Proper (Titusville/Maplewood High School), 11-1 to cut the Thiel led to 22-15. The Jayhawks then followed up with a pin at 197 pounds as Cameron Page pinned Caleb Garvey (Johnsonburg, Pa./Johnsonburg) at the 6:03 mark.
 
Thiel closed out the dual with back-to-back pins as Dominic Farabaugh (Loretto, Pa./Penn Cambria) at 197 pounds pinned Wyatt Holley at 1:13 and Gage Gladysz (Greenville, Pa./Greenville) at 285 pounds pinned Nick Jones at 4:29. With the results, Tomcats took the dual 34-21 over the hosting Jayhawks.
 
Thiel returns to action on Saturday as they travel to Washington, Pa. to compete in the Washington and Jefferson College Invitational, matches are set to begin at 9:45 a.m.
