NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Thiel College men's basketball team concluded play in the Buzz Ridl Classic Saturday afternoon with a 66-48 win over the Defiance Yellow Jackets.
 
Ahmad Tejumola (Waldorf, Md./Saint Charles) scored on a layup with 16:53 left in the first half to give the Tomcats a 5-3 lead, which they refused to give up the rest of the game. Thiel went on to lead by as many as 23 points late in the second half.
 
Terrance Holloway (Farrell, Pa./Farrell) and Daquan Simmons (Capitol Heights, Md./Central), who were both named to the All-Buzz Ridl Classic Team, led the Tomcats with 19 points apiece Saturday. Holloway also recorded six rebounds and six assists. Alonzo Brown (Largo, Fla./Pinellas Park) contributed 13 points and eight rebounds while Anthony Byrd (Plantation, Fla./Blanche Ely) scored eight points, secured seven rebounds and tallied four assists.
 
Marell Jordan paced the Yellow Jackets with 18 points while Tyler Andrew grabbed 10 rebounds and scored nine points.
 
Thiel (2-2) will return to action Monday when they face the Penn State Behrend Lions on the road. The non-conference game is slated to begin at 6 p.m.
