GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's soccer team tied a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match against the Saint Vincent Bearcats Saturday at Alumni Stadium, 3-3.
Nicole Pereksta (Parma Heights, Ohio/Valley Forge) staked the Tomcats to an early lead 3:18 into the contest when she scored from the top of the box. Natalie Luppold evened the score a little more than three minutes later when she scored off a corner kick by Leah Memmo.
Corinne Burk scored at 10:03 inside the box on a rebound to give the Bearcats a 2-1 edge at halftime.
Lauren Hradesky (Mayfield Heights, Ohio/Mayfield) tied up the score for the Tomcats when she scored 3:20 into the second half on a long free kick that sailed into the top of the twine.
Luppold notched her second goal of the game in the 72
nd minute on a penalty kick, which
Emma Polinski (Brunswick, Ohio/Trinity) matched on a penalty kick of her own in the 78
th minute.
Shay Tresler (Fairview, Pa./Fairview) made nine saves for Thiel. Abigail Johnson made eight saves for Saint Vincent.
The Tomcats will take on the Westminster Titans Tuesday on the road. The PAC game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m.
