WASHINGTON, Pa. – The seventh-seeded Thiel College Tomcats were knocked out of the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Women's Tennis Championship Tournament Tuesday with a 9-0 loss in the quarterfinals to the second-seeded Washington & Jefferson Presidents at the Janet L. Swanson Tennis Center in Washington, Pa.
For Thiel, Allyson Stanley (Oil City, Pa./Oil City) lost at third singles to Megan Berard 6-2, 6-0. Angela Campbell (Pittsburgh, Pa./Plum) lost at second singles to Rachel Johnson 6-1, 6-0.
Prior to 2018, the PAC played a flighted championship with five individual players and doubles teams exclusively seeded and not based on a team's finish in the regular season. This year's team champion will earn the PAC's automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Division III Championships.
