WAYNESBURG, Pa. – The Thiel College women's tennis team earned a 5-4 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) win over the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets Thursday.
The Tomcats won a trio of singles matches.
Angela Campbell (Pittsburgh, Pa./Plum) defeated Sierra Jones 6-1, 6-1 at second singles while
Allyson Stanley (Oil City, Pa./Oil City) defeated Noelle Hughes 6-2, 4-6, 10-4 at third singles.
Amelia Mutinelli (Greenville, Pa./Greenville) defeated Natalie Johnston at fifth singles 7-5, 6-0.
Thiel also won two of three doubles matches. Stanley and
Abby Bowser (Freeport, Pa./Lenape Technical) defeated Jones and Sierra Stevens at second doubles, 8-5. Mutinelli and
Diamon Butler (Washington, Pa./Washington) teamed up at third doubles to earn an 8-1 win over Johnston and Abby Walbrown.
The Tomcats will conclude the 2018 regular season Friday when they host the Bethany Bison. The PAC match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
