WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Thiel College women's tennis team was defeated 9-0 on the road Friday evening by the Washington & Jefferson Presidents.
 
At No. 2 doubles Tomcats Angela Campbell (Pittsburgh, Pa./Plum) and Shyann Foreman (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro) lost a tough 9-8 (7-2) decision to Jade Annaldo and Caitlin Shellhamer. At No. 3 doubles, Emilie Maxheimer (Massillon, Ohio/Massillon) and Marquett Samuels (Austintown, Ohio/Austintown Fitch) suffered an 8-5 loss to Hanna Kuhlkamp and Ellie Blixt.
 
Allyson Stanley (Oil City, Pa./Oil City) also lost a close match at No. 4 singles to Shellhamer, 6-2, 6-4.
 
The Tomcats will return to action Saturday when they take on the Westminster Titans on the road. The PAC match is scheduled to begin at 11 a.m.
