NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – The Thiel College women's tennis team was defeated 8-1 in Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) action Saturday by the Westminster Titans.
 
Freshman Emilie Maxheimer (Massillon, Ohio/Massillon) led the Tomcats with a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 5 singles over Ashley Walsh.
 
Also for the Tomcats, Freshmen Emily Barton (Pittsburgh, Pa./Seton LaSalle) and Allyson Stanley (Oil City, Pa./Oil City) kept their No. 1 doubles match close against Gabriele Eaborn and Julia Serbati but lost, 8-3.
 
The Tomcats will be back in action Tuesday when they face the Allegheny Gators on the road. The non-conference match will begin at 5 p.m.
