FREDONIA, N.Y. – The Thiel College women's tennis team was defeated 9-0 Wednesday by the Fredonia Blue Devils at Steele Hall Courts in Fredonia, N.Y.
 
For Thiel, Emilie Maxheimer (Massillon, Ohio/Massillon) and Marquett Samuels (Austintown, Ohio/Austintown Fitch) played a close match at No. 3 doubles but fell 8-3 to Mallory Mecca and Avril King. Allyson Stanley (Oil City, Pa./Oil City) was also defeated at No. 4 singles 6-1, 6-2 by Chloe Karnisky.
 
The Tomcats will face the W&J Presidents on the road Friday. The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.
