Buffalo, N.Y. – The Thiel College women's soccer team collected a 3-0 win over non-conference opponent Medaille College on the road Wednesday afternoon.

The Tomcats controlled the play for much of the first half with eight shots but were unable to take an advantage. The Tomcats would strike in the 40' as
Mackenzie Quinn (Carnegie, Pa./Chartiers Valley) netted her first goal of the season to make it 1-0 in favor of Thiel.

Thiel continued to keep the pressure on Medaille in the second half as the Tomcats registered 14 more shots in the half. Even with the disparity in shots, Thiel did not convert another goal until a corner kick in the 78th minute.
Nicole Pereksta (Parma Heights, Ohio/Valley Forge) played a ball into the box for
Emma Polinski (Brunswick, Ohio/Trinity) to finish and score her second goal of the year.

Thiel added a late goal as
Joelle Reitz (DuBois, Pa./DuBois) buried a ball in the back of the net in the 80' to seal the victory.

Goalkeeper
Chimamaka Palmer (Northfield, Ohio/Mayfield) made two saves on the day and collected her second shutout victory of the year.

With the win, the Tomcats improve to 3-4 on the year and have already eclipsed their win total from the 2016 season.

The Tomcats will be back in action on Saturday Sept. 23 as they travel to Heidelberg University in a non-conference matchup. The match is set to kickoff at 1:00 p.m.
