GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's tennis team lost a pair of non-conference matches Saturday. Thiel fell to La Roche 7-2 before suffering a 5-2 loss to Mount Aloysius.
Against La Roche,
Abby Bowser (Freeport, Pa./Lenape Technical) defeated Jazmyn Davis 7-6 (7-5), 6-3 at No. 6 singles. Bowser also teamed up with
Allyson Stanley (Oil City, Pa./Oil City) to earn an 8-3 victory over Rebecca Franks and Davis at No. 3 doubles.
Against Mount Aloysius,
Emilie Maxheimer (Massillon, Ohio/Massillon) earned an 8-2 win over Mackenzie Roush at No. 4 singles.
Marquett Samuels (Austintown, Ohio/Austintown Fitch) also won 8-2 at No. 5 singles over Alexis Brisko.
The Tomcats will return to action Thursday when they take on the Bethany Bison on the road. The Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match is slated to begin at 4 p.m.
