LATROBE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's tennis team lost a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) match on the road Wednesday to the Saint Vincent Bearcats, 7-2.
Thiel's
Emilie Maxheimer (Massillon, Ohio/Massillon) earned a 6-4, 6-1 win over Emily Egler at No. 5 singles. At No. 2 doubles,
Angela Campbell (Pittsburgh, Pa./Plum) and
Shyann Foreman (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro) defeated Lisa Marthens and Egler, 9-8 (10-8).
Allyson Stanley (Oil City, Pa./Oil City) suffered a tough loss at No. 4 singles to Katie Palko, 6-4, 6-3. Maxheimer and
Marquett Samuels (Austintown, Ohio/Austintown Fitch) were also narrowly defeated at No. 3 doubles by Tori Monstrola and Katie Egan, 8-6.
The Tomcats will be back in action Friday when they host the Mount Aloysius Mounties. The non-conference match is set to begin at 4 p.m.
