BETHANY, W.Va. – The Thiel College women's tennis team suffered a 5-4 Presidents' Athletic Conference loss on the road Thursday to the Bethany Bison.
Allyson Stanley (Oil City, Pa./Oil City) and Emilie Maxheimer earned wins for the Tomcats in singles play. Stanley defeated Gabrielle Berrios 6-0, 6-0 at No. 4 singles while Maxheimer downed Dawson McHarg 6-0, 6-1 at No. 5 singles.
Maxheimer also paired with
Marquett Samuels (Austintown, Ohio/Austintown Fitch) at No. 3 doubles to defeat Fran Capaldi and McHarg, 8-4.
Angela Campbell (Pittsburgh, Pa./Plum) and
Shyann Foreman (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro) also won at No. 2 doubles over Berrios and Emily Folk, 8-6.
The Tomcats will compete in the PAC Championships at Pennbriar Athletic Club in Erie, Pa., on Oct. 20-21.
