WAYNESBURG, Pa. – The Thiel Tomcats got major contributions from five players Saturday in a 74-58 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) road win over the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets.
Thiel led by just two points at halftime (38-36) but quickly took a 10 point lead in the second half and led by as many as 17 points down the stretch.
Josh Lumbus (Cleveland, Ohio/John Hay) led the Tomcats with 18 points and nine rebounds while
Tyreik Burton (Lewes, Del./Cape Henlopen) scored 14 points, grabbed five rebounds and notched four steals.
Nyric Gosley (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport) chipped in with 12 points while
Clandell Cetoute (Wellington, Fla./Wellington) tallied 10 points, seven rebounds and six blocks.
Alonzo Brown (Largo, Fla./Pinellas Park) also contributed 10 points in Thiel's 10
th win of the season.
Jon Knab paced the Yellow Jackets with 18 points while Timmy Kaiser scored 10 points. Brennan Smith paced Waynesburg on the glass with eight rebounds.
The Tomcats (10-7, 6-6 PAC) will host the Geneva Golden Tornadoes Wednesday at Beeghly Gymnasium. The PAC game is slated to begin at 7:30 p.m.
