WASHINGTON, Pa. – The Thiel College wrestling team suffered a 28-21 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) loss Tuesday on the road to the W&J Presidents.
The Tomcats won four bouts on the night, including a pair by pin.
Vince Vahaly (Bentleyville, Pa./Bentworth) (133) pinned Mike Smith (2:52) while
Chris Nuss (West Homestead, Pa/Central Catholic) (165) won by fall over Jakub Kielb (3:12).
Thiel also got wins from
Jaread Prude (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) (125, forfeit) and
Gage Gladysz (Greenville, Pa./Greenville), who won the 197-pound bout by decision (3-2) over William Oberschelk.
The Tomcats will host the 10
th Annual Mel Berry Duals Friday at Beeghly Gymnasium. The three-team event will begin at 4:30 p.m. Thiel will take on Baldwin Wallace at 6 p.m. and Mercyhurst North East at 7:30 p.m.
