MEADVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's tennis team was defeated 9-0 Friday by the Allegheny Gators at the Robertson Athletic Complex in Meadville, Pa.
 
For the Tomcats, Sara Matczak (Erie, Pa./Fairview) and Lauren Wolfe (Anita, Pa./Punxsutawney) played a close match at No. 1 doubles but fell to Gaby DeLeon and Rachel Crookston, 8-4. Mercedez Quarles (Cleveland, Ohio/Cleveland School of Science and Medicine) also kept her No. 5 singles match close but lost to Lauren Fugate, 6-3, 6-1.
 
The Tomcats will host the Fredonia Blue Devils Tuesday. The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
