GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's tennis team suffered a 9-0 loss Thursday to the Washington & Jefferson Presidents in the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opener for both teams.
 
For the Tomcats, Sara Matczak (Erie, Pa./Fairview) and Lauren Wolfe (Anita, Pa./Punxsutawney) played a tough match at No. 1 doubles against Rachel Johnson and Grace McCarthy but fell, 8-4. Thiel's Angela Campbell (Pittsburgh, Pa./Plum) and Shyann Foreman (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro) also battled at No. 2 doubles against Polina Dergacova and Kathryn Chase but lost, 8-3.
 
The Tomcats will return to action Friday when they travel to Meadville, Pa., to take on the Allegheny Gators. The match is set to begin at 4:30 p.m.
