PITTSBURGH, Pa. – The Thiel College women's tennis team suffered a 8-1 defeat to the La Roche Redhawks Saturday afternoon.
 
Shyann Foreman (Wellsboro, Pa./Wellsboro) picked up a win in No. 3 singles over Chardai Guthrie of La Roche 7-6, 6-2.
 
Angela Campbell (Pittsburgh, Pa./Plum) played a hard-fought match with Miranda Lasher in No. 4 singles but fell 6-3, 5-7, 7-10.
 
Foreman and Campbell teamed up in No. 2 doubles but fell to the team of Guthrie and Devin Stromberg 9-7.
 
The Tomcats will have their 2016 home opener on Thursday, Sept. 15 at 3:30 p.m. when they host the Washington & Jefferson Presidents.
