GROVE CITY, Pa. – The Thiel College women's basketball team concluded it's 2015-16 season Saturday with a 63-53 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) loss on the road to the Grove City Wolverines.
Although the two teams played evenly the last three quarters, the Tomcats were unable to overcome a slow start that put them in a 13-4 hole after 10 minutes of play.
Erin DiFalco (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) got the Tomcats within six points (59-53) with 50 seconds remaining in the contest, but the Wolverines went 4-for-4 at the charity line down the stretch to seal the conference win.
Senior forward
Hannah Stoneman (Sugarcreek, Ohio/Hiland) led the Tomcats with 12 points and seven rebounds while freshmen guards
Jess Vormelker (Orwell, Ohio/Grand Valley) and
Alivia Sidley (Thompson, Ohio/Ledgemont) scored 11 points apiece.
Kathryn Erbelding recorded a double-double for the Wolverines with 17 points and 16 rebounds. Lexie Arkwright scored 14 points and recorded eight rebounds. Also for Grove City, Jackie Stewart and Laura Buchanan scored 12 and 11 points, respectively.
