BUFFALO, N.Y. – Five Tomcats scored 10 points or more Saturday to help the Thiel College women's basketball team earn a 72-63 win over the Cazenovia Wildcats during the final day of the Betty Abgott Invitational, hosted by Buffalo State at the Buffalo State Sports Arena.
Leading by four points heading into the fourth quarter (50-46), the Tomcats opened up the final frame with an 11-2 run.
Jessica Lovell (Washington, Pa./Trinity) started the run with a layup, and
Taylor Duchon (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) followed with a three-point play.
Brijae Journee (Cleveland, Ohio/Villa-Angela St. Joseph) hit a pair of jumpers in the paint before Lovell connected on a pair of freebies from the line with a little more than five minutes remaining in regulation.
Jess Vormelker (Orwell, Ohio/Grand Valley), who was named to the All-Tournament Team, led the Tomcats with 22 points and 15 rebounds to record her second double-double of the season. Duchon scored 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds while Journee scored 11 points and secured six rebounds.

Danyelle Lucido (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) and Lovell also chipped in with 10 points apiece.
Skylar Girard scored a game-best 24 points for the Wildcats while Kelli Shepardson notched a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Thiel (2-2) will travel to Erie, Pa., Tuesday to take on Penn State Behrend. The non-conference game is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
