EDINBORO, Pa. – The Thiel College men's basketball team dropped a 90-74 decision on Saturday to the Division II Edinboro Fighting Scots in an exhibition contest to start the 2016 season.
Four Tomcats scored double figures in the game.
Clandell Cetoute (Wellington, Fla./Wellington) led the Tomcats with a double-double, scoring 16 points and grabbing 10 rebounds.
Alonzo Brown (Largo, Fla./Pinellas Park) had a team-high 17 points while juniors
Josh Lumbus (Cleveland, Ohio/John Hay) and
Tyreik Burton (Lewes, Del./Cape Henlopen) tallied 10 points apiece. Lumbus added six rebounds.
Avril Campbell (Dumfries, Va./Potomac) recorded nine points and seven rebounds while
Nyric Gosley (Williamsport, Pa./Williamsport) scored eight points off the bench.
Jaymon Mason had a game-high 24 points for Edinboro.
The Tomcats will officially begin the 2016 regular season on Tuesday when they travel to Erie to take on the Penn State Behrend Lions. Tip off from the Junker Center will be at 7 p.m.
