GREENVILLE, Pa. –
Jaclyn Watkins (Aliquippa, Pa./Aliquippa) scored a season-high 21 points and matched her career-high with 15 rebounds Saturday to lead the Thiel College women's basketball team to an 80-69 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) upset win over the Bethany Bison at Beeghly Gymnasium.
The Tomcats trailed the Bison 36-35 at halftime. Thiel went on to outscore Bethany 28-22 in the third quarter and never looked back to earn the conference victory.
Watkins made 8-of-13 shots from the floor and 5-of-7 from the charity line. She came up with eight defensive rebounds and seven offensive boards.

Jess Vormelker (Orwell, Ohio/Grand Valley) scored 15 points, nine of which came from beyond the three-point line. Vormelker also secured seven rebounds.
Alivia Sidley (Thompson, Ohio/Ledgemont), another freshman guard, scored 10 points.
Tomcat senior point guard
Kayla Welty (Portville, N.Y./Portville ) scored seven points. She also handed out five assists to move into second place on Thiel's career list (265). A four-year starter, Welty passed up Tammy Willrich (262) and Tracey Ralph (263) to move into second place on Thiel's career assists list.
Thiel also got key contributions Saturday from
Erin DiFalco (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional),
Taylor Ketler (Dalton, Ohio/Dalton) and
Taylor Duchon (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin), who each made a pair of three-pointers in the win.
Kelsea Daugherty led the Bison with 19 points while securing nine rebounds. Ashley Duthie scored 11 points while Hayley Holenka and Taylor Large netted 10 points apiece. Mikayla Tipton led the Bison with 10 rebounds.
Thiel will host Chatham on Wednesday at Beeghly Gymnasium. The PAC contest is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m.
