GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's soccer team fell 4-2 to the Hilbert College Hawks in a non-conference contest at Alumni Stadium Tuesday afternoon.
The Tomcats took an early 1-0 lead in the ninth minute when
Katelyn Labos (Carnegie, Pa./Chartiers Valley) knocked in a goal off of a header by
Kaytee Candela (Geneva, Ohio/Lakeside). Hilbert then tied at one when Jackie Morgan scored off an assist by Courtney Vaccaro.
The Tomcats regained the advantage 2-1 in the 57
th minute when Labos knocked in
Elizabeth Wilkinson (Apollo, Pa./Kiski Area)'s cross into the back of the net. The Hawks then responded with three unanswered goals to give them the win.
Mary Oakey (Baltimore, Md. /Mercy ) made eight saves and
Kim Gentry (Madison, Ohio/Madison) made two saves for the Tomcats.
The Tomcats will be back in action Saturday, Sept. 19 at 2 p.m. when they take on the Mount Aloysius Mounties in Cresson, Pa.
