GROVE CITY, Pa. – Junior forward Jaclyn Watkins (Aliquippa, Pa./Aliquippa) became the 14th Thiel College women's basketball player to score 1,000 points in her career in a 66-46 loss to the Grove City Wolverines in the opening round of the 2015 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) Championship Tournament Monday night.

Watkins scored her 1,000 point with five minutes left in the first half on a layup that was assisted by Erin DiFalco (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional). Watkins made 8-of-14 shots from the field Monday and finished with 17 points and six rebounds.

Also for Thiel, Hannah Stoneman (Sugarcreek, Ohio/Hiland) scored eight points off the bench while Kayla Welty (Portville, N.Y./Portville ) and Taylor Duchon (Pittsburgh, Pa./Baldwin) each contributed six points apiece.

Kelsey Shirey led the Wolverines with a game-high 22 points.

Thiel last had a 1,000-point scorer during the 2012-13 season when Kelly Barzak (1,401) and Kelly Muffley (1,238) both achieved the milestone.
