LATROBE, Pa. – The Thiel College men's basketball team suffered a 78-58 loss to the Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) leading Saint Vincent Bearcats inside the Carey Center Wednesday night. Eric Mallinger (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) earned his fourth double-double of the season leading the Tomcats in points and rebounds. Mallinger scored 13 points while pulling down 10 rebounds while adding three assists and two blocks.
Freshmen
Tyreik Burton (Lewes, Del./Cape Henlopen) and
Avril Campbell (Dumfries, Va./Potomac) each notched 10 points off the bench while Campbell had four rebounds.
Khari Bess (Waldorf, Md./Maurice J. McDonough) had eight points and
Demetris Lafontant (Orlando, Fla./Osceola) gathered five rebounds for the the Tomcats.
Sean Kett also recorded a double-double for the Bearcats with 28 points and 11 rebounds.
The Tomcats (12-12, 9-8 PAC) will wrap up their regular season on Saturday, February 21 when they take on Mercer County rival Grove City. The men will tip at approximately 3 p.m.
