BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Thiel College women's basketball team lost to John Carroll 77-42 Saturday in the consolation game of the Betty Abgott Invitational hosted by Buffalo State at the Sports Arena in Buffalo, N.Y.
Kayla Welty (Portville, N.Y./Portville ) paced the Tomcats with nine points while recording four rebounds and two steals. Also for Thiel,
Danyelle Lucido (Grove City, Pa./Grove City) scored eight points and pulled down six rebounds while
Taylor Ketler (Dalton, Ohio/Dalton) scored eight points and tallied five rebounds.
Katlyn Spahar scored a game-high 33 points for the Blue Streaks, tying a Betty Abgott Invitational record. Spahar also grabbed seven rebounds while Shmoo Pryor scored 11 points.
The Tomcats will return to action Tuesday when they host the Penn State Behrend Lions at Beeghly Gymnasium. The game is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
