HERMITAGE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's tennis team dropped an 8-1 match to the Waynesburg Yellow Jackets in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) contest Monday afternoon.
 
Mercedez Quarles (Cleveland, Ohio/Cleveland School of Science and Medicine) won a hard-fought three set match at No. 5 singles against Waynesburg's Amanda Hooker. After splitting the first two sets 6-3 and 4-6, Quarles won the tiebreaker in the third set 10-7 to win the set and the match.
 
The Tomcats will travel to Grove City to take on the Wolverines on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 3:30 p.m.
