GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel Tomcats erased a 10-point halftime deficit Saturday to earn a 66-58 Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) victory over the Geneva Golden Tornadoes.
Thiel trailed at the half 36-26 but used a 17-5 run to start the second half, en route to
the conference win.
Erin DiFalco (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) made three of her game-high six three-pointers during the run, including the go-ahead trey with 11:32 remaining in the contest. The Tomcats never trailed the rest of the way and led by as many as 11 points down the stretch.
Jaclyn Watkins (Aliquippa, Pa./Aliquippa) led the Tomcats with 20 points and seven rebounds. DiFalco scored 18 points, all from three-point range. It was her highest point total of the season and the second most points she scored in a single game during her collegiate career.
Cimone Reid (Toledo, Ohio/Ottawa Hills) also scored nine points for the Tomcats.
Miranda Heaney led Geneva with 20 points while Lydia Songer scored 14 points.
The Tomcats will return to action Wednesday when they host the Washington & Jefferson Presidents. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
