WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – The Thiel College wrestling team finished fourth Saturday at the 2015 Budd Whitehill National Duals, which were held at Lycoming College.
The Tomcats lost a pair of matches Saturday. They opened the day with a 36-9 loss against seventh-ranked Messiah College before losing a tough 22-18 match to Lycoming College.
Brandon Collins (Hadley, Pa./Commodore Perry) and
Jake Trillow (Aliquippa, Pa./Hopewell) accounted for Thiel's wins against Messiah. Collins (165) defeated Derek Beitz 3-1 while Trillow (197) pinned Kyle Koser in 24 seconds.
Collins went 4-0 during the two-day Budd Whitehill National Duals. He was named to the all-tournament team for his efforts Saturday.
Thiel and Lycoming each won five bouts in the match for third place. However, Lycoming picked up extra points in three competitions, which was the difference in the match.

Sean Byham (Saegertown, Pa./Saegertown) (157) pinned Ross Orler in 4:28.
