BEAVER FALLS, Pa. – The Thiel College women's tennis team suffered its first loss of the season Monday, falling 8-1 on the road to Geneva.
Emily and
Nicole Carlton (Beloit, Ohio/West Branch) paced the Tomcats with a win at No. 3 doubles, defeating Nicole Bartoletta and Jennifer Bullock 9-8.
Two Tomcats also played close doubles matches.
Lauren Mittner (New Brighton, Pa./New Brighton) lost 6-3, 6-4 to Sara Stoll at No. 2 singles while
Nicole Carlton (Beloit, Ohio/West Branch) lost 6-4, 6-3 at No. 6 singles to Hilary Kinney.
The Tomcats (2-1) will return to action Wednesday when they take on Waynesburg University on the road. The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
