Box Score NEW CONCORD, Ohio – Senior
Monica Ochoa (North Royalton, Ohio/Padua Franciscan) scored her first goal of the season Saturday, but it wasn't enough for the Tomcats in a 3-1 loss to the Muskingum University Fighting Muskies.
Ochoa opened scoring Saturday 8:19 after the opening whistle on a pass from
Morgan Berg (Cleveland, Ohio/Rocky River). Ochoa's shot came from the top of the box and sailed into the top portion of the cage.
Muskingum responded with three unanswered goals over the remainder of the first half. Stephanie Price tied the game up a minute after Ochoa opened scoring on a pass from Moriah Mathies.
Mathies went on to score two goals of her own before halftime, putting Muskingum up for good, 3-1.
Kim Gentry (Madison, Ohio/Madison) and
Mary Oakey (Baltimore, Md. /Mercy ) each played a half in net for the Tomcats. Gentry made three saves without allowing a goal while Oakey made two saves in 45 minutes of work.
The Tomcats will return to action Wednesday when they host the Hiram College Terriers at Alumni Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
