HAMBURG, N.Y. – The Thiel College women's soccer team put five goals in the back of the net in a 5-0 shutout road victory over the Hilbert Hawks on Saturday afternoon.

Junior Morgan Berg (Cleveland, Ohio/Rocky River) and senior Alliana Hardgrove (North Canton, Ohio/Hoover) each knocked in two goals for the Tomcats. Berg also added assists on both of Hardgrove's goals and on Elizabeth Wilkinson (Apollo, Pa./Kiski Area)'s goal at the 81st minute. Chey Ross (Sigel, Pa./Brookville) also picked up an assist on Berg's first goal, which was scored early in the second half.

Berg scored two goals and added three assists on the day while junior goalkeeper Mary Oakey (Baltimore, Md. /Mercy ) had her first clean sheet of the year, recording four saves in the shutout effort. Hardgrove also scored two goals for the Tomcats.

The Tomcats (2-6) will host the Medaille Mavericks on Tuesday, Sept. 23. Kickoff under Alumni Stadium's competition-level lights is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
