Watkins, DiFalco combine for 25 points

Freshman guard Erin DiFalco scored 12 points for the Tomcats Saturday.
Box Score WASHINGTON, Pa. – Jaclyn Watkins (Aliquippa, Pa./Aliquippa) and Erin DiFalco (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) combined for 25 points Saturday, but it wasn't enough for the Thiel College women's basketball team in a 62-49 Presidents' Athletic Conference loss to the Washington & Jefferson Presidents.

The Tomcats rallied from a 7-point deficit in the first half to tie up the contest, 22-22, with 3:02 remaining before halftime when Watkins completed a three-point play. However, the Presidents ended the first half on a 5-0 run to hold a 27-22 lead at the break.

Watkins opened the second half with a bucket in the paint to cut W&J's lead down to three points, but the Tomcats would get no closer and lost the conference contest, 62-49.

Watkins scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to record the ninth double-double of her sophomore campaign. DiFalco scored 12 points while Amy Abdelrasoul (Brookfield, Ohio/Brookfield) scored eight points and added five rebounds.

W&J's Valerie Dunlap notched game-highs in points (16) and rebounds (12). Chelsea Apke (15), Alexa DelGreco (11) and Beka Bellhy (10) also reached double figures in scoring for the Presidents.

The Tomcats (4-15, 3-9 PAC) will be back in action Wednesday when they host the Saint Vincent Bearcats. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.
