Kochka’s 17 points lead Thiel over Westminster

Luke Kochka scored 17 points Wednesday to lead the Thiel Tomcats to a 71-58 victory over the Westminster Titans.
Box Score NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. – Luke Kochka (Monroeville, Pa. /Gateway) scored 17 points, 15 of which were from three-point range, to lead the Thiel College men's basketball team to a 71-58 Presidents' Athletic Conference victory Wednesday over the Westminster Titans.
 
Kochka hit one of his five three-pointers less than two minutes into the game to give the Tomcats an early 3-2 advantage. It was a lead that the Tomcats never relinquished, having led by as many as many as 18 points with a little less than seven minutes remaining in regulation.
 
Khari Bess (Waldorf, Md./Maurice J. Mcdonough) scored 16 points for the Tomcats to go along with seven assists and six steals. In addition, Eric Mallinger (Pittsburgh, Pa./Taylor Allderdice) recorded a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds.
 
Paul Carswell paced Westminster with 15 points while Anthony Thomas scored 11 points.
 
The Tomcats (7-9, 4-6 PAC) will return to action Saturday when they travel to take on the W&J Presidents at 1 p.m.
