GREENVILLE, Pa.– The Thiel College women's tennis team hosted its first home Presidents' Athletic Conference match of the year when Westminster College came to town on Wednesday.
The Titans picked up an 8-1 over the Tomcats (0-2). Though the home team was unable to come away with the victory, there was still a highlight to the day as Thiel freshmen
Sara Matczak (Erie, Pa./Fairview) and
Lauren Wolfe (Anita, Pa./Punxsutawney) improved to 2-0 at number three doubles. The first-year pair tallied an 8-4 triumph over the Titans' Lauren Fling and Alicia Warne.
The Tomcats return to action on Sunday, Sept. 8, when they travel to Crestview Hills, Ky. to face Thomas More College. The contest is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
