LATROBE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's tennis team hit the road on Saturday to battle Saint Vincent College in a Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) showdown. The Bearcats wound up on the winning end of a 7-2 contest with the Tomcats.
The Tomcats found themselves in an early hole, as the Bearcats raced out to a 6-0 lead to seal up the overall victory. Freshman
Emily Carlton (Beloit, Ohio/West Branch) stopped the Tomcat slide at four singles by coming out on top of a 7-5, 6-3 decision. Her sister, Nicole, picked up her first collegiate victory with a hard fought win at number six singles, as she took the match in three sets, 6-7, 7-6, 10-5.
Thiel returns to the courts on Wednesday, Sept. 18, with a 4 p.m. road match at Medaille College.
