Hines nets career-high 15 in loss to Hiram

Terriers defeat Tomcats, 71-58

Box Score HIRAM, Ohio – The Thiel women's basketball team outscored Hiram College 33-30 in the second half, but a 16-point first-half deficit was too much to overcome as the Terriers defeated the Tomcats 71-58 Saturday afternoon.

Thiel was led by senior Bethany Hines (Youngstown, Ohio/Youngstown Early College), who scored a career-high 15 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the three-point line. Freshman Erin DiFalco (Murrysville, Pa./Franklin Regional) added nine points on 3-of-6 shooting from three, while sophomore Jaclyn Watkins (Aliquippa, Pa./Aliquippa) added seven points and five rebounds.
 
The Terriers shot 24-of-72 (33.3%) from the field, and held a 52-42 advantage in rebounds for the game. The Tomcats shot 9-of-22 (40.9%) from beyond the arc and 21-of-62 (33.9%) from the field during the contest.

The Terriers were led by Christy Griffin, who poured in 14 points, while Alexis Kemper and Brianne Goodrich added 12 points apiece.

Thiel returns to action on Jan. 4, when they host the Bison of Bethany College for a Presidents' Athletic Conference clash. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
