Box Score GREENVILLE, Pa. – Sophomore
Hannah Stoneman (Sugarcreek, Ohio/Hiland) posted her first career double-double, scoring 22 points and grabbing 11 rebounds to lead Thiel to a 58-53 win over the Penn State Behrend Lions Tuesday evening.
The Tomcats (1-2) never trailed in the contest, racing out to an early 13-3 advantage through six minutes of play. Thiel continued to add to their lead, as they took a 31-20 margin to the locker room for half. A back and forth second half saw Thiel's 11-point lead whittled down to three with three seconds to play. The Lions (1-2) fouled Stoneman on the ensuing inbounds to send her to the line with the game still hanging in the balance. The second-year forward calmly knocked down both free throws to give Thiel its first win of the season.
Stoneman was a perfect 8-for-8 from the charity stripe, and shot 70% (7-for-10) from the field. Her 22 points matches a career and season-high, and her 11 rebounds are also a career-best for the young forward from Sugarcreek, Ohio.

The Lions, however, did not have answer for Stoneman, who scored eight of her team's final 12 points to seal the win for the Tomcats.
