GREENVILLE, Pa. - The Thiel College women's tennis team lost an 8-1 decision to Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) opponent Grove City College Thursday evening.  

The doubles tandem of freshmen Sara Matczak (Erie, Pa./Fairview) and Lauren Wolfe (Anita, Pa./Punxsutawney) pocketed the team's only win on the day as they earned an 8-6 victory at #3 doubles. The duo improves to 6-3 on the season.

In addition, Emily Carlton (Beloit, Ohio/West Branch) nearly claimed a win at #4 singles but fell just short in a 6-2, 7-5 loss.

Thiel will next compete at the PAC Championships on Oct. 18 and 19.
