GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's basketball team was defeated Wednesday at Beeghly Gymnasium by the Saint Vincent Bearcats, 98-56.
 
Senior guard Kelly Muffley (Salsburg, Pa./Western Reserve Academy) paced the Tomcats in the loss with a 23-point, four-rebound effort while senior forward Kelly Barzak (Warren, OH/Howland) scored 19 points and grabbed five rebounds.
 
Saint Vincent improved to 8-4 overall and 4-1 in the PAC with the win. Devin McGrath led the Bearcats with game-highs in points (24) and rebounds (15). Four other Bearcats reached double figures in scoring, including: Taylor Mathers (12), Elle Collins (11), Melissa Mansur (10) and Ashlee Darby (10).
 
The Tomcats (2-10, 1-4 PAC) will return to action Saturday when they host the Thomas More College Saints at Beeghly Gymnasium. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. Muffley will be looking for 1,000^th career point in the game. She needs just two more points to reach the 1,000-point plateau.
