GREENVILLE, Pa. – Saint Vincent outlasted Thiel, 61-57, Wednesday night in an overtime barnburner in men's basketball action at Beeghly Gymnasium. 
 
The tough loss dropped the Tomcats to 6-5 on the season, and the Bearcats improve to 9-4 with the win.
 
The hot-shooting Tomcats led by as many as ten in the second period but the determined Bearcats methodically chipped away at the formidable deficit – thanks in no small part to a four-for-ten performance from the three point arc in the second half.
 
After Anthony Harvey (New Castle, Pa./New Castle) made both of his free throws to put the Tomcats up 53-50 with four seconds remaining in regulation, Chris Klimchock took the inbounds pass and chucked up a desperation three that found the bottom of the net to send the game into overtime.
 
The momentum carried over to the OT period for the Bearcats, who outscored the Tomcats 8-4 in the five-minute extra period to steal the win away from Thiel.
 
AJ Forbes led Thiel with 12 points, five rebounds and four steals. Ladell Trotty (Cleveland, Ohio/Lutheran East) added his third double-double of the season, scoring 11 points and grabbing a game-high 12 rebounds. Harvey was the third and final Tomcat to score in double-figures, adding 11 points on seven-of-eight shooting from the free-throw line.
 
Klimchock and Edmond Wright each had 18 points for the Bearcats.
 
Thiel returns to action on Saturday when it hosts Thomas More.
