GREENVILLE, Pa. – The Thiel College women's soccer team suffered a tough 2-1 loss Sunday in double overtime to Medaille College.
Joey Ruderman put the Mavericks up with less than three minutes remaining in the first half. Candis Kapuscinski assisted.
The Tomcats tied up the contest a little more than 20 minutes into the second half off of a corner kick by
Karen Wolfe (Troy, Pa./Troy Senior), who set up
Alana Smith (Struthers, Ohio/Struthers) with the goal.
Ruderman scored the game-winner for Medaille with 51 seconds remaining in double overtime.
Mary Oakey (Baltimore, Md. /Mercy ) made nine saves for Thiel. Denay O'Connor made four saves for Medaille.
The Tomcats (1-4-1, 1-2-1 PAC) will travel to Hamburg, N.Y., Wednesday for a 3 p.m. contest against Hilbert College.
